We had planned to fish Windmill fishery which was just a little bit up the road from Bitterwell lake, this wasn\u2019t however doable due to the carp lake being fully booked up. I had left the request to book 2 swims rather late.\u00a0<\/p>

We agreed we would give Bitterwell lake another go and so headed off around lunch time to the venue.<\/p>

On arrival, a row of swims which were recommended by lake manager Paul Isaacs were free. We decided to try a swim each, directly opposite where we fished last week.\u00a0<\/p>

This day pretty much mirrored the last time when we was on this lake.<\/p>

People around us were catching carp, we could just not get going at all. We decided we would pack up at 6pm.<\/p>

As other punters on the lake started leaving, I through one rod out to the right of me, and one towards the aerator that\u2019s site bang on in the middle of the lake.\u00a0<\/p>

Around 16:40 I had a couple of bleeps on my alarm, but nothing more. I struck it just in case and started to reel in. BANG! I could feel the vibrations through the rod that I was in fact into a carp.<\/p>

The carp put up a great little fight and I was able to land him. Not the biggest of carp but this was absolutely brilliant and saves a blank.\u00a0<\/p>

We stayed for around an hour longer after that fish, my alarm screamed off but nothing on the end of it.\u00a0<\/p>

Another lucky escape of spending a few hours at the lake and only having one carp but my friend has come out to the lake twice and blanked! Not good!\u00a0<\/p>
